Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a school-wide system through which teachers create and deliver learning experiences for students based on best practices that have the highest impact on student learning and improved outcomes. MCSD core beliefs are aligned with AVID's mission to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. AVID supports literacy development with a focus on learning beginning in the earliest grades through high school.
